Virtual Prom & Graduation 2020
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many big events and milestones were put on hold. For graduating high school and college seniors, it was especially tough to lose prom and graduation. Jubilee wanted to bring back some of those exciting and pivotal moments with virtual events. We hosted 2000+ attendees to celebrate the class of 2020 through a complex system of Zoom calls, Twitch, and social media.
I was tasked with programming and building a comprehensive social campaign in the days leading up to the event. Collaborating with our graphic designer, I reworked her original designs (above) into themed posts, interactive stories, and GIFs to build anticipation for the big days!
Strategy & Purpose
To get people excited about something, you have to make a big deal out of it. I wanted Jubilee Prom and Graduation to be on everyone’s feeds as the events approached, building hype and introducing new ways to be involved. While the primary goal was to create a valuable experience, the campaign also served to support event logistics with daily reminders and by encouraging people to spread the word.
Motion graphics and GIFs are two of my favorite ways to elevate social media designs!
